Photography, for me, is a way of giving attention to the things that often pass by unnoticed. Whether it’s a photo series or a one-on-one portrait, I try to create images that carry intention, images that hold a certain energy, and images that express a strong personality. In this way, stories become more than just photographs: they become memories with a voice of their own.
My creative process
My creative process is not a fixed way of working. It’s a way of life. I draw inspiration from traveling and stepping outside my comfort zone, from a beautiful sunset, from walks in nature, from unexpected conversations, and from music that lingers in the mind. Everything that fills me with wonder feeds my work.
From dancing to camera
Dancing was my first love. My life revolved around movement, rhythm, and expression. At the age of 13, I began my journey as a professional dancer, later becoming a choreographer and dance teacher. But after years of intense training and performances, I eventually pushed myself too far. A severe burnout forced me to slow down, both literally and figuratively.
In that silence, I discovered photography. I kept it to myself for about two years, but after launching my own project, bookings for parties and events quickly followed. Photography became my new form of expression. Where I once conveyed emotion through movement, I now do it through images. The power of a gaze, the subtlety of a hand gesture, the energy a person radiates, I see it all through my lens.
I explored until it became a job...
In my early thirties, after years of exploration and different opportunities, I finally got the chance to turn my passion into my profession. I started working as a corporate photographer at TODI, Europe’s first indoor diving center, home to more than 10,000 tropical fish. It was a unique environment where I learned to truly observe, to look deeper, and to tell stories through images.
There, I grew not only as a photographer, but also as a Digital Marketer. At the same time, I continued working on freelance projects and volunteered as a photographer for Internetgazet Beringen and Tourism Beringen. I gained experience, worked with many different people and environments, and refined my eye.
And yet, something still felt incomplete. I had the feeling I wasn’t fully telling the stories I truly wanted to tell. As if I was getting close to the essence, but never quite reaching it.
